Blu Smooth Keurbooms Meander

Situated in the Western Cape, the Keurbooms River is one of the best preserved rivers in South Africa and boasts a healthy and vibrant eco system. It makes for an epic swim destination in beautifully okra coloured water. Blu Smooth Keurbooms Meander is a 5km, tide assisted swim excursion up the stunning Keurbooms River. On day 2 we have an optional 3km secret swim. It is suitable for all open water swimmers confident of tackling the distance. The swim starts from in front of the chalets at Forever Resorts and finishes upriver at Whiskey Creek beach. After a picnic lunch on the beach, a river barge will retrace the swim route and ferry swimmers back to the start. On the adventure back, Russell from Keurbooms Ferries will share his vast knowledge of the river and the surrounding indigenous vegetation. A true privilege and one of the many highlights of the day. Saturday evening is to be enjoyed around the post-swim-fire back at the resort and is a great opportunity to share your experience with your fellow swimmers. The package includes accommodation at Forever Resorts riverside chalets (Friday and Saturday night), swim guidance, safety and sustenance and ferry ride back to the start. Swimmers will also receive a commemorative bottle of Whiskey. Meals are excluded and the units are self-catering. We have 5 units that sleep a total of 6 people (swimmers or non-swimmers). The units are mixed sex units. A bring-and-braai is planned for the Saturday evening. Limited places are on offer for this unique swim excursion.
