Red Ants Rumble Rogaine Edition

So we have had a few queries around the Red Ants Rumble 2023 Format. We have decided to try something new, something to get the teams thinking together and the navigators choosing their routes wisely. The concept is that there are no specific legs and no order to get the rogaine points, the race route should be different for each of the teams. You will all start on your bikes with a map of all the MTB rogaine points plotted for you. Also plotted on the map are 2 transitions which are the start/finish transitions for 2 running rogaine areas. You will carry your running shoes with you from the start. There will be marshals and water at each transition. You can only enter and exit each foot rogaine area once, so think wisely before you leave a foot rogaine area. At the start you will have a choice, you can go out collecting the MTB points before moving towards a transition or you can go directly to a transition. Which transition you head to will also be up to you. The goal is to collect as many points as possible and get back to the start finnish area before the 6 hours is up. To be qualified as a finisher you need at least 1 point from each foot rogaine and at least 1 MTB Rogaine point. Teams will be penalised for being late back to the start/finish, the severity is based on how long after the 6 hours you arrive. Teams with equal points will be ranked according to who gets back to the start first. So choose your routes wisely and have a cutoff to pull the ripcord and head home. This one will have team captains and navigators thinking hard, perfect prep for World Champs later in the year and it will no doubt be awesome racing right on your doorstep...
