Race Description
The Anatomic Crater Traverse is a premier trail running event held within the rugged landscapes of the Vredefort Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Parys, South Africa. Taking place in mid-May, the race offers participants a rare opportunity to traverse the ancient terrain of the worlds largest verified impact crater. The event caters to a wide range of fitness levels, featuring multi-day stage races like the Quartzite and Granite challenges, as well as shorter "Lekka" single-day runs. Runners can expect technical climbs, such as the ascent of Koedoe Mountain, and scenic views over the Vaal River valley, all hosted at the Koedoeslaagte Trail Park which serves as the central race village for the weekend.
