1000 Hills Challenge

The 1000 Hills Challenge returns, offering a legendary test of endurance across some of KwaZulu-Natals most breathtaking terrain. The event takes runners through the scenic landscapes of Nagle Dam in the heart of the Valley of 1000 Hills, where rolling hills, dramatic red cliffs, and dense bushveld set the stage for a truly immersive trail experience. Long-course runners circumnavigate the entire dam, navigate riverine sections, tackle adventurous river crossings, and conquer steep climbs, while the short course winds through the dam via an exciting tunnel and around its lower half. Along the way, encounters with wildlifeincluding zebras, giraffes, impalas, and Nguni cattleadd a touch of African wilderness to the journey, while vibrant birdlife paints the landscape in color.
