The Eland Trail

The Eland Trail is a one-day trail running event set in the spectacular surroundings of Mount Park, Dargle, in the heart of the KZN Midlands. Whether you're new to trail running or looking for your next adventure, The Eland Trail offers something for everyone, with 8 km, 22 km and 38 km routes designed to showcase the incredible diversity of the Midlands landscape. Expect flowing single track, peaceful riverine forests, rolling farmlands, open grasslands and rewarding climbs, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Inhlosane Mountain range. Every route has been carefully planned to deliver an authentic trail running experience that celebrates the natural beauty of the area. As the inaugural edition of The Eland Trail, we're excited to welcome runners to the very first chapter of what we hope will become a much-loved annual event. Our goal is simple: create an affordable, welcoming and memorable trail running experience where runners, families and supporters can enjoy a day in one of South Africa's most beautiful outdoor settings.
